Celebrity chef Gary Rhodes voted off Strictly for his 'flat as a pancake' footwork

SCD_gary_rhodes Celebrity chef Gary Rhodes has become the latest contestant voted off Strictly Come Dancing  after judges described his footwook as ‘flat as a pancake’.

Rhodes’ jive with partner Karen Hardy left him languishing in the bottom two after the Saturday night show alongside Olympic swimmer Mark Foster.

He picked up just 18 points out of a possible 40.

His lowest score came from Craig Revel Horwood who told him: ‘There are a few problems that one must overcome, one being a hunched back – that doesn’t help; the lurching neck is not helping you.

‘There are major timing issues and stompy flat footedness that make it laboured.’

The chef could not improve in the Sunday night dance off and was voted off the show by three out of the four judges leaving head judge Len Goodman to comment: ‘I thought it was a very brave attempt.’

Unable to stand the heat of the dance floor, it was back to the kitchen for Rhodes who said: ‘I would go through it all again – I want that ballroom dance. Maybe we’ll have that privately.’

Next week’s show will see the second female contestant voted off, after former-EastEnders actress Gillian Taylforth said goodbye last weekend in only the second week of the competition.

Model Lisa Snowdon and actress Jessie Wallace both scored badly last week and will be looking to improve.
