Dancing with the Stars 7: Season Finale Live Thoughts

judges-2008 The Dancing with the Stars seventh season finale is upon us.  In tonight’s two-hour finale, all three finalists will perform their third and final dance, one of their favorites from the season, to be scored by the judges.  The judges’ scores for this dance will be combined with the scores and viewers’ votes from last night’s performances to determine who will win the Dancing with the Stars mirror ball trophy.  I’m super-excited for this.  Are you?

Tonight is going to be a lot of fun.  Cloris Leachman will be back with what I’m sure will be a very foul-mouthed segment.  Plus, although Jeffrey Ross had to suffer the ignominy of being the first eliminated, he’ll be back to do what he does best: a roast of the three finalists.  It’ll be a night of laughs and great dancing, and I’ll be here to record every minute of it.

We begin the night with a recap of last night’s performances, from the Samba Smackdown to the freestyle round.

All three couples are backstage with Samantha Harris, awkwardly asking them questions.

Yay!  Cloris Leachman is back!  In her pre-taped segment, she’s wearing the same yellow and orange outfit that she wore when she got eliminated.  She’s been living in a box in a permanent state of dishevel.  She does a superhero spinny thing, and then she takes to the street to ask people who they are going to vote for.  The best one is when she tells this man, holding his child in his arms, “Did you know that I got eliminted?” and the man says with hardly any inflection in his voice, “Oh no.”

Now, Alicia Keys takes the stage to perform “I Need You.”

After the commercial break, during which I snuck out to my kitchen to get a snack, we get a musical montage of scenes from the whole season, including the time when Cloris stuck her cleavage into Len’s face.  Love it!
