Separation on "Biggest Loser" motivates Greer couple

Greer’s Phil and Amy Parham plan to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary next July.

During their marriage, the real estate agents have dealt with their share of adversity.

So when the couple were split up and placed on separate teams in the last episode of NBC’s “Biggest Loser: Families,” they used it as motivation.

Phil was placed on the black team, while Amy became a member of the blue team.

The couple still lost a combined 14 pounds.

“I think the good thing about the competition is that you get to get away from everything for a little while,” he said. “Then, you get to come back. A lot of people are really successful after they leave the Biggest Loser ranch.”

The Parhams are now two of the final nine contestants who are competing for a $250,000 grand prize.

The exercise remains brutal, but the Parhams plan to keep it up even after the show ends.

“You’re making major changes for the rest of your life,” he said. “No matter if we win the show or not, we’ve committed to do this for the rest of our lives.”
